Small town friendly. Big city savvy.

Sunny grew up in a small town but was determined to live big — traveling to Asia, Latin America, South Africa, Europe, and the Middle East.

She’s lived in Jordan, Japan, Hawaii, Thailand, and Costa Rica; speaks bits of multiple languages (including Japanese and Arabic); earned an MA in cultural sustainability and certification in sustainable tourism, and has more than a decade of experience facilitating cross-cultural understanding and designing international, experiential trips for adventurous and conscientious travelers.

Travel. Truth. Health. Healing.

Sunny’s work is guided largely by (1) a belief in our kuleana (responsibility) to malama (care for) our planet and one another and (2) a desire to provide stories that challenge misconceptions and contribute to greater compassion and understanding.

Areas of specialty include:

  • Responsible travel

  • Sustainability and conservation

  • Lesser-known history, activities, and sites

  • Health and wellness (including disabilities, chronic conditions, and mental health)

  • Challenging misconceptions and stereotypes

  • International educational programming
